In both Uncommon Confidence and Personal Revolution!, participants are introduced to the idea of brag shares. Brag shares are public sharings of a win, success, compliment or any other wonderful thing that they achieved or that happened to them. The woman must share the success, the brag, in front of the class and ideally be using her Hero’s Voice. The purpose of these declarations is not to improve public speaking skills, although that inevitably happens, but to relish and respect the self-esteem building feeling that you get when you ‘toot your own horn’, which most of us were told not to do. But how can you really build self-esteem or live your honest, Authentic Self life if you neglect to share with others those wonderful things that you created or that happened to you? Brag shares give us immediate gratification and pleasure. So, go for it! Tell someone about the flattering compliment that you received or about your opportunity to speak at the UN on a subject that you are passionate about. People want to know!
